History
YAOI adalah istilah yang digunakan dalam dunia anime-manga untuk menyebut hubungan cowok dan cowok. Saat ini, istilah yaoi sendiri sudah kuno dan kebanyakan orang menggantinya dengan istilah boys' love atau BL.
IYF didirikan di mailing list Animanga dengan nama YF (Yaoi Front) oleh Silver Wind untuk menandingi beberapa front yang sudah ada sebelumnya, seperti HLF (Hentai Liberation Front) dan NF (Neutral Front). Pendirian front yang semulanya hanya untuk main-main ini lalu kemudian ditanggapi secara serius oleh beberapa member Animanga yang juga menyukai yaoi.
Setelah Silver Wind memiliki domain ini, maka salah satu project-nya adalah IYF yang disambut dengan hangat oleh banyak fangirls (dan sejumlah fanboys!). ~__^ IYF resmi berdiri pada tanggal 16 September 2001. Dan domain Yaoi-Front.ORGy dibeli pada bulan Maret tahun 2003 melalui S/ HE Lamia. Sekarang ini IYF merupakan subdomain wiryadi.com milik Shun.
IYF sendiri didirikan dengan tujuan untuk memberikan klarifikasi apakah yaoi dan BL itu sebenarnya. Dan juga untuk membuktikan bahwa fans yaoi/BL eksis di Indonesia dengan jumlah yang cukup banyak.
Contoh pasangan yaoi/BL adalah:
canon: pasangan yang benar-benar terjadi dalam anime dan manga, e.q. Kouji x Izumi (Zetsuai dan Bronze), Touya x Yukito (Card Captor Sakura)
fandom: pasangan yang tidak terjadi dalam serial sebenarnya, tetapi sangat populer di kalangan fans, e.q. Heero x Duo atau Duo x Heero (Gundam Wing), Hotohori x Nuriko (Fushigi Yuugi)
