Title : 裁きの血/Sabaki no Chi (Blood of Judgement) Author : 十波妙子/Tonami Taeko Released : august 1999 Publisher : Shinshokan ISBN: 4-403-61550-3 The main character of the story was Bisque Clane (note:mother complex) and Eldora, an immortal king of Castral kingdom. The people of Castral kingdom could only live for 25 years. |
When Bisque was only seven years old, he was caught stealing a plant from
the palace by the guards. To avoid from being caught, he jumped off the balcony
and landed on a person who was standing in the garden.
His blood stained on the person's cloak. The guards who was chasing him by
the blood trail finally arrived in the garden. They ask the person if there
was anyone else in the garden.
The person produced a dagger, sliced his own body and said "That's my
blood, is there any problem?"
The blood of that person was blue! After the guards left the garden, Bisque
returned to the person and offered to wipe the blood off. The person laughed
and told Bisque it was unnecessary because the blood was already contaminated
with a lethal poison that if anyone made a contact with it, it may harm them.
Bisque, who thought the person were a woman, embraced her and asked for her
forgiveness for making her cloak bloodstained.
He said ,"My late mother told me once to women, clothes are more important
than a friend or a sibling," and promised that one day he would come
for her and bring a new clothes for her.
Ten years later, Bisque had became one of the royal knights.
Eldora, the king of Castral ordered Bisque to guard the princess of the kingdom,
Qiera. Eldora himself was a handsome man with green-ish hair and eyes that
similar to his hair.
On his left cheek there was a mysterious symbol (there will be an explanation
on the symbol in the next chapter).
Even though he was a knight, Bisque's jobs were no different from a servant.
XD
One day, as Qiera's order, Bisque brought a clean cloak for Eldora, who was
taking a bath in the lake.
As he approached the lake, Bisque saw Judge Noiz was talking to Eldora. Noiz
asked Aldora to give Qiera to be his wife.
Noiz even stood close to the king and kissed his shoulder.
Their conversation was ceased with Bisque's sudden arrival.
Noiz then left Eldora. As Bisque helped the king dressed, he complained that
the king shouldn't let the perverted old man (aka Noiz) to do whatever he
wanted. Bisque even yelled at
Eldora and called him as baka oyaji.
Bisque was surprised to find scars all over Eldora’s body. Just then Bisque
realized the cloaked person he saw ten years ago in the palace garden was
Eldore, not a woman as he thought all this long.
Even though he looked young, Eldora actually was 721 years old. Seven centuries ago, Eldora made a deal with a magician named Tate so the people Castral would live longer. However, there was a catch, that he had to give all his red blood away and he was left only with the blue colored and poisonous blood.
Knowing that then Bisque kept his distance from Eldora. One day, Bisque was
looking for Eldora into the forbidden glasshouse. There he saw the king was
watering the plants with his own blood. Bisque stopped Eldora and asked him
never to do that anymore. Eldora replied it was the only way to grow the medical
plants to help the Castral people.
Bisque begged to Eldora not to continue his work because it hurted to see
him doing that.
Eldora only smiled and that made Bisque annoyed. They then talked about the
death of Bisque’s mother. Eldora pitied there weren’t any medical plant for
eternity to make Bisque’s mother lived longer. Bisque relaxly asnwered, “What
for? Immortality doesn’t guarantee someone’s happiness.”
Bisque added by asking if Eldora were happy and were wanting to be free. As
they were talking, they weren’t aware Noiz was secretly listening to them.
Bisque was surprised when he found his childhood friend,Remy, appeared in
the palace. Little that he knew, Remy was working as Noiz’s servant. The girl
asked Bisque to return but he decline her politely. Later on when Bisque was
cleaning his sword, Qiera came to him and told him that the glass house was
in fire.
It was Remy who burnt the glass house because Noiz promised her to return
Bisque to her if she destroyed all the poisonous flowers inside the glass
house. Noiz didn’t keep his promised and instead told both of them to leave
the palace. As Bisque bidded his farewell, he asked Eldora to come with him.
Eldora refused the invitation and told Bisque to bring Qiera with him instead.
Bisque followed Eldora’s order and took Qiera with him as he left the palace.
In the mean time, Noiz had orders his soldiers to kill Remy and Bisque without
hurting Qiera. The king stopped the soldiers by injuring himself. The guards
were afraid of the poisonous blood that they backed off.
Eldora himself lost a large amount of blood that his legs couldn’t support
his anymore. As the king was sitting on the ground, he remembered Bisque.
He was surprised that then Bisque returned to him and brought with him a set
of women’s dress. Bisque held Eldorado close without being afraid of his blood
stain. The soldiers again tried to stop then and Eldora scared them by saying
Bisque had been infected by his poisonous blood. Bisque yelled at them asking
why they didn’t want to sacrifice themselves for their king.
In the end, Bisque and Eldora managed to escape from tha palace and left Qiera
as the next ruler. Qiera then killed Noiz, who accidently infected by her
blue blood.
The girl purposely gave his father a chance to leave the palace because she
saw how happy her father was with Bisque.
Bisque confessed he didn’t care if his life was short and if the Castral
kingdom would meet it’s end as long as he could see Eldora’s smile. To him
to want someone else’s happiness wasn’t evil. Eldora was touched by his kind
words and he NEARLY *grrr* kissed Bisque if Bisque suddenly didn’t embrace
and told him, "I love you".
Eldora laughed as he heard Bisque’s confession. He admitted he also loved
Bisque more than what he wore and even though Bisque wasn’t his family. After
that they continued they journey.
The next story occured three and a half years later. A group of robber assulted
Bisque and Eldora. Eldora fell off a cliff and disappeared while Bisque was
badly injured and lost his memory. Luckily, Bisque was saved by a girl named
Rito.
Six months after that incident, Bisque lived with Rito and he was given a
new name, Lyas. From here I will refer Bisque as Lyas. One day, Lyas saw a
man crying by a pet cemetary in front of his house. That man said, "Bis..."
but cut by the apperance of Rito and a man with glasses named Hana.
The crying man, Eel, was a friend of Hana who work as medicine seller. As
a matter of fact, Eel was Eldora who was rescued by Hana when he fell off
a cliff. Dued to his injury his body condition had became weaker and he became
depended on Hana. Hana mocked Eldora and told him it was useless for Eldora
to find Bisque because Bisque wouldn’t remember him anymore. Eldora only smiled
and held Bisque’s sword which was on the cemetary.
As Eldora saw how happy Lyas to be with Rito, he became hesitant to tell him
who he really was. Lyas himself sensed a strange sensation toward Eldora.
One day Eldora refused to follow Hana’s wish and Hana "punished"
him with Taruwi oil which made anyone who made contact with it lost his/her
senses. Lyas who saw the incident pulled Eldora out of the house for some
fresh air to neutralize Eldora from the effect of the oil.
The next morning, Eldora quietly left Lyas. Eldora walked into a desert but
lost his consciousness dued to the extreme heat but Lyas again came to rescue
him. Lyas asked Eldora to come and stay with them. Lyas himself couldn’t understand
why he was worrying and in panic when Eldora was missing.
When they returned, they found the house was in chaos because of a group of
robbers. The robbers were the same with the ones who attacked Bisque and Eldora
months earlier. The robbers were there to take Eldora away to Gyokuto tribe.
The Gyokuto were well known for having magical medicine which made from human
flesh for immortality.
To the robbers surprised, they found the symbol on Eldora’s left cheeck were
of the Gyokuto’s. One of the robber who tried to touch Eldora was bitten by
a small creature who cared about Eldora. The robber threw the creature away
and nearly killed it if Eldora didn’t stop it. Eldora who was angry scratched
his cheeck with a dagger and his blue blood flooded out from the cut. The
man reminded the robbers of the blue blood curse and ordered them to leave.
As Lyas saw the blue blood, his memory returned to him.
I can now reuse the name Bisque. Six months ago when they were attacked by
robbers, Eldora told Bisque to run away without him. Bisque refused because
he didn’t want to see Eldora hurt himself again. In the end, Eldora threw
himself down a cliff while ine the other hand, the injured Bisque was rescued
by a person with a golden hair. When he regained his consciousness, he was
already in a desert with an injury and amnesia and later rescued by Rito.
Bisque who regained his memory back attacked the robbers. One of the robbers
who tried to run away was killed by Hana who came to the scene without anyone’s
notice. Evidently Hana was Tate.Yes, he was the Gyokuto magician who made
a pact with Eldora seven centuries ago and the same person who rescued Bisque
when he was attacked by robbers months before.Tate deliberately put Gyokuto
symbol on Eldora’s cheeck to mark him as his belonging.Tate came to renew
the deal between him and Eldora because he wanted Eldora to ‘give birth’ to
a second child for him which he called Byakuto.Ok, what it meant by ‘giving
birth’ here was actually to create a life from mixing Tate and Eldora’s blood.
Bisque attacked Tate with his sword. The magician recognized Bisque’s fighting
style and asked who taught Bisque to fight.
Bisque refused to answer and kept of attacking Tate. Tate then disappeared
after reminding that he would only lived unil he were 25 years old. After
Bisque died, he would then reclaimed Eldora.
However, was it true that Tate had disappeared? Apperantly not because as
soon as Eldora and Bisque left, Tate returned beside Rito. Rito was as a matter
of fact was the same as Tate. She was Gyokuto but outcasted from the group
because unlike the common blue blooded Gyokuto, she had red blood.
In the begining Rito wanted to killed the injured Bisque but she changed her
mind when she heard him calling her, "Mother." On the other hand,
Tate didn’t kill Bisque and let them walked away because he was interested
with Bisque’s power and wanted to know more of him.
Bisque and Eldora then continued their journey to Bekurel, the place where Bisque’s teacher reside. On the way, Bisque already shown the signs of dying but he hide it from Eldorado.
To be continue in the next book, Blood of Agreement....
Aside from BL aspect, I really love the story. Even if the BisquexEldora pair
were male and female, I would still like it. When I read it, I felt a warm
feeling, there were even times where I almost shed my tears. The BL aspect
in this manga was really light, no sexual activities except for the scence
where the two characters NEARLY kissed.XD
If one day this series were turned into anime or drama CD, I would love to
have Sakurai Takahiro acted as Bisque and Hoshi Souichirou as Eldora. Also
Suwabe Junichi as Tate.
